Sikkim, a north eastern State in India is home to India’s highest mountain Kangchenjunga. Due to dramatic landscapes, it is a dream destination for many of us. Latest Guidelines for travelling to Sikkim and Sikkim Travel Card
To ensure tourist safety government has issued certain guidelines for travellers visiting Sikkim.
- Until now travel is opened only for Domestic tourists and for foreign nationals residing in India.
- It is compulsory to register on the Sikkim Tourism Web Portal before travelling to Sikkim. A copy of “Travel Card” issued on the basis of tourist registration should be carried at all times of travel in Sikkim. Take 5-6 photocopies of the Sikkim travel card.
- It is advised to get a valid a COVID Negative certificate (RTPCR Report) issued within 72 hours prior to date of arrival. Though it is not mandatory.
- Carry a valid proof of identification. Aadhar card is not valid in Border areas of North Sikkim and East Sikkim. So either take driving licence or voting card. Also, carry 5-6 photocopies of your identity card.
- Persons above 65 years of age, persons with comorbidity, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are advised to either avoid travelling or limit it.
- Social distancing is to be followed strictly and tourists must wear necessary protective gears.
