Guidelines for travelling to Andaman Islands after the lockdown
If you want to plan your trip to this dream destination, there are a few guidelines you need to follow.
- It is compulsory for all travelers to carry a negative RTPCR report by an ICMR recognized lab. The airline and airport hold the authority to send you back if negative RTPCR report is not carried. The date of the test should not be more than 48 hours before landing in Port Blair (Andaman’s Capital City).
- No Home/ Institutional Quarantine is required if the tourist has negative report.
- In case symptoms develop during your stay in Andaman, contact nearest Health Center. If tested positive the tourist will have to undergo institutional isolation and the cost has to be borne by the tourist (around INR 1000 per day). Patient can stay in hotel only if allowed by Doctor and asymptomatic.
- Right now travel to North and Middle Andaman Islands, Nicobar group of islands and Little Island is not permitted.
- Tourists traveling to and fro Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island) and Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) will not have to test again, if they have negative test report, as per above mentioned points.

We travelled from Delhi to Kolkata and then to Port Blair. RTPCR report was checked at the Kolkata Airport by the airlines before boarding the flight to Port Blair. The people not carrying the RTPCR report were not allowed to board the flight to Port Blair from Kolkata Airport itself.
